Review:

With reasonable prices and feature-packed plans, it's no surprise RingCentral is our top-choice for the best business VoIP and business phone system.

Compared to top competitors 8x8 and Nextiva, RingCentral is a clear favorite for its ease of use, features, and cost-effective plans. Both RingCentral and Nextiva offer a basic VoIP plan and offer similar features like unlimited calling. However, RingCentral leads the race by including more features like unlimited audio conference calls and video meetings. In addition, RingCentral's most basic plan is $15.00 cheaper than Nextiva's.

Highlights:

RingCentral is a great choice for businesses looking to pay a reasonable price for a reliable communications network. RingCentral is equipped with most standard features, including unlimited calling, audio conferencing, video meetings, call recording, and high-definition (HD) voice, among other features.

Shortcomings:

RingCentral does not have the widest network coverage, making it hard for businesses in rural and urban areas to communicate. In addition, call records are only stored for a maximum of 3 months.

Reputation:

Customers are impressed with RingCentral's customer service and many services on offer, including their wide variety of business solutions. However, we found several reviews that highlights RingCentral's poor technical support.

So far, I like RingCentral since we have been using it internally. We also resell it/support it. Although I am open to seeing if there is something better we can resell and use internally. The RingCentral Softphone is awesome. In terms of the increase of price for adding a desk phone to a softphone user, you should only pay the standard per user price whether there is a desk phone or softphone deployed. You should ask your rep to verify that. Also, with RingCentral you don't just get the phone service, you also get RingCentral Meetings and Glip (team collaboration). Honestly, I really like using both, and we have Office 365 to use internally ( I hate skype for Business, as the chat feature sends me a bunch of unneeded emails when I am offline).

I switched from RingCentral to Dialpad a while ago and absolutely love it compared to all the other phones systems that I have used in the past.

We just switched from RingCentral to a smaller company called Crexendo. They're not as polished as RC, but they're half the cost. Cloud based VoIP, although it doesn't have some of the bells and whistles like each user having their own fax/text. They also charge extra for mobile and PC softphones. Can't beat the price, though, if you're a smaller business. We went from paying ~$960/mo to just under $400 for 20 users (plus 800 number and faxing). If you need video conferencing a la GoToMeeting, RingCentral may be worth the money. They repackage and include Zoom licenses for all users. That was pretty handy.

We had nothing but problems with Jive, we actually lost 2 clients because of them.We switched to RingCentral 3 years ago and haven't had any issues. The number of things that are included in the Office plan makes it hard to consider anyone else. Particularly that everyone gets their own conference bridge and web conferencing account - which is a branded version of Zoom.

RingCentral is very user friendly and has a lot of features but they get really pricy if you have a lot of users. With approx. 30 or more users, you should consider providers that focus on larger companies and therefore charge only $5-$10/user and separate call paths from users. There are many out there, with all the same features as RC.
