I recommend Zoho Invoice. You can even set up a payment gateway to allow for your customer's to pay online. The mobile app is awesome! I'll usually have my customer billed within moments after I've left.

Zoho Invoice, $8 per month. EIGHT BUCKS!! It's a brilliant system too, check out their free version.

I recommend Zoho Invoice as well. I used the free edition for about a year and it suited me perfectly. Although not tailored to Australia, you can add GST easily enough as well as your ABN / ACN. It's really easy to use and sends out nice looking invoices. It also has a connection to ChargeConnex so getting paid is really easy.

There are apps that take care of the heavy lifting when it comes to business accounting. If you are a small business I highly recommend Zoho Invoice. No matter what it is you are selling its important you present yourself as professional always.

I have switched to ZOHO Invoice as I do not need all the features of WHMCS. It is not the security I was concerned with, but the amount of time to update, upgrade, add modules, etc. I sell consulting which happens to include hosting.
