BambooHR is an HR software that offers assistance with employee data and analytics, hiring and tracking, onboarding, compensation, and performance management. However, in this review, we will only be focusing on BambooHR's payroll software.

BambooHR features almost all of the standard payroll features, such as automated taxes and the ability to do deductions. However, businesses that also need the support of automatic payments can turn to Gusto or Zenefits, our top-ranked payroll software.

Users of BambooHR can enjoy a range of well-known features, such as automatic sending of W-2s and 1090s, the ability to handle multiple pay schedules, integrations of pre-tax benefits, accounting software, and time-tracking software, as well as generation of digital paystubs. BambooHR does lack built-in timesheets and the ability to handle garnishments and flexible payment schedules, which can be found with Sage, a payroll solution with similar features.

Finally, BambooHR supports some less common features, such as reporting new hires, allowing digital signatures, exporting payroll data as spreadsheets or plain text, sending payroll reminders, and allowing for data migration. BambooHR has no setup fees and provides 256-bit SSL encryption. It also has an activity dashboard and supports collaboration with team members.

BambooHR is a feature-rich payroll solution that is cost-effective, at just $4.95 per employee per month. You can compare this price with our top-ranked payroll software, Gusto, which offers a wider range of features than BambooHR, with pricing starting at $39.00 (base fee) plus $6.00 per employee per month. Zenefits offers similar features to Gusto and starts at $10.00 plus $6.00 per employee per month when clients pay on a monthly basis.

BambooHR is an ideal choice if you need payroll software that also offers various HR solutions, such as employee onboarding, applicant tracking, and employee satisfaction management.

BambooHR appears to me to be the best, for SMBs.

I’ve used BambooHR before and thought it was very easy and intuitive. They added payroll last year. The integrated ATS is a nice bonus. The only con I would say is there is no time and attendance piece if you want to track hourly employees. They integrate with 3rd party vendors for this though. In my experience almost every platform lacks one thing you want, you just have to prioritize your needs. I think it’s a great platform for small businesses.

We use BambooHR. It's pretty good, I think it covers most of what you're doing. We don't use their Applicant Tracking, we have a separate recruiting app for that.

We just implemented BambooHR and I really like it. Great automated workflows, self service, and customizable reporting. They have nonprofit and volume discounts.

We use Bamboo HR and it does a lot of this but not all. Having a quality intranet is important and having it integrated is as well. We use multiple solutions to accomplish the same thing but obviously this looks great and functions great :)
