Review:

Salon Iris offers all the features a business in the salon and beauty industry could want with competitive pricing. It is an easy-to-use, robust platform packed with great features that are mobile compatible. Salon Iris has a positive online reputation and is, in fact, one of the most popular salon POS platforms available.

Highlights:

Salon Iris is a complete business management solution with salon management, POS, staff management, payroll, inventory tracking, and customer engagement features. It also offers a fully-featured mobile app for remote business management. Salon Iris is a good option for scalability as it offers different plans for businesses of various sizes, from solo booth renters to large salons and multi-location franchises.

Shortcomings:

Salon Iris is not as cheap as some of its competitors, but it offers fair pricing for the features you get. However, customers have complained about the price when you start adding on more advanced features or third-party integrations. It can also be difficult to navigate Salon Iris' POS software as there are a lot of features, which can make it seem more complicated.

Reputation:

Salon Iris is not Better Business Bureau (BBB) accredited and currently has no BBB rating. GetApp, however, has collected 172 customer reviews for Salon Iris with a 4.44 out of 5 average rating. Customers are happy with Salon Iris' suitability for the salon industry, the automatic text reminders, and the inventory feature. Negative customer reviews are about high pricing compared to competitors, a lack of web integrations, and additional costs for extra features and integrations.

Capterra has also collected 172 customer reviews for Salon Iris, with an average of 4.4 out of 5. Positive customer reviews site the attractive interface, the fully-featured mobile version, and the great range of features and reports. Customers have complained on Capterra about errors with sales and tax reports and a poor integration with QuickBooks.

Salon Iris Packages:

Salon Iris's 5 packages all offer basic features, such as appointment scheduling and reminders, online booking, reporting, credit card processing, reputation management, and Facebook and Instagram integrations. The Deluxe package has far more features than the Basic package, including text marketing, membership billing, basic payroll, time clocks, client management, and resource management.

However, Salon Iris states that their Premier package is their most popular package. With it, you get all the features included in the Basic and Deluxe packages, including advanced payroll, service and employee payroll exceptions, pricing levels, and sliding scale commissions. The Professional package is only $10 more expensive than the Premier package and while users will still have access to the Basic and Deluxe features, they will otherwise have access to a different set of features than in the Premier package. These features include remote access, check printing, general ledger, waitlist functions, profit and loss reporting, and product ordering.

The All-in-One package includes all the features of the Basic, Deluxe, and Premier packages as well as front desk functionality with integrated cash drawer, receipt printer, barcode scanner, and credit card processing. The hardware is integrated with a front desk tablet.

Some of the features listed may require the integration or purchase of additional products or services.

Comparisons with Top Competitors:

Salon Iris is more expensive than its top competitors Shedul and Vagaro. Shedul is a free platform that offers basic scheduling software and includes POS and customer management. Vagaro offers all the basic tools necessary for managing your salon but becomes more expensive as the number of users increases. Salon Iris, on the other hand, is a complete salon POS and business management platform.
