Reviews of Procore:
We love ProCore, but unfortunately I don't have any experience with any alternates since I'm pretty new to the industry, just been told that ProCore has blown what we did before out of the water. Makes submittals, RFI's, transmittals, meeting agendas and minutes really slick to look at and easy to go back through. The documentation is great and all changes have time stamps saved, who did it, and everything is saved to the cloud with unlimited storage. I love the drawing tool too, makes it easy to keep your set up to date, easy to sort through, has built in markup and measurement tools. Bid invitation and directory tools are nice too. Making a bid package with the bid documents is easy and you can blast it out to a couple hundred subs in no time. Very accessible in the field on an iPad or iPhone too. Easy to view documents, drawings, upload pictures, send stuff out, update punch lists, etc. I still prefer using it on a PC, but having the mobile option is definitely a plus.
We’ve been using Procore for about a year. There is a lot to love but does have some limitations that aren’t immediately apparent that have hamstrung its potential. I love that I always have the most current drawings in my hands. Our clients tend to make A LOT of revisions, so keeping up with that is difficult when using paper drawings. Procore makes that extremely easy. Daily logs, photos, and submittals are always at my fingertips. But here’s the downside- for all its usefulness, despite providing access to our subs, getting them to use it is like pulling teeth. I spend so much time answering questions that would be immediately obvious if they opened the app. It’s gotten to where now, I refuse to answer them if they haven’t bothered to log in. There is a bit of a learning curve, but to anyone born post ~1980, it’s very intuitive. Their support seems to be pretty good too. I’ve rarely had any issue go unaddressed for very long. I can’t speak to how that is handled though since our SOP is to forward issues to our IT guy and he handles it.
Procore is absolutely amazing! I can’t imagine running a project without, it’s reinventing the Construction industry and worth every penny.
I started using ProCore last year on this project, and it has drastically improved our workflow, starting from the office and down to the field. Drawings, RFIs and submittals are easily accessible from anywhere! We love it.
