I know you'd probably be giving up revenue, but my recommendation is to set your client up with something like Simple Practice. They built specifically for doctor's offices and already have all of the HIPAA stuff in place.

I love simple practice! I actually preferred old school paper notes for years because every EMR I tried sucked, but Simple Practice is the software that changed my mind. It’s very intuitive and easy to use - not overly complicated.

Ugh the practice I work at switched to simple practice a few months ago and I don’t care for it. I don’t find it to be “simple” at all. Maybe I’m not using it right but some issues I’ve had. For cash clients it doesn’t tell what client paid it, but rather lumps it all in one sum for the entire month. I also feel like I have to go to five or six different screens to get everything done. I have to put the client on the calendar, then click their name to say they’ve paid, another screen for case notes, another screen to do billing, etc. We use google calendar for scheduling and sync it to simple practice, but the calendar only syncs from simple practice to google calendar, not the other way around.I’m sure there are other issue but that’s what came to mind first. I would not recommend it at all.

I did not like simple practice. It was not simple. I love Therapymate! The personalization service was awesome. They spent an hour with me on the phone walking me through everything and answering my questions as they came up. The interface is super easy to navigate.
