Nuance has a product called Dragon Medical One and there is another product called SayIt manufactured by NVOQ. These are both very accurate and are sold via a subscription model. Many of the recognition software out there today can take into account not only southern accents but many others as well for example Indian, Pakistani, Australian to name a few.

Nvoq sayit. It’s not cheap (80 CAD/month) but it runs on any machine PC/MAC running Java. It’s cloud based so as long as you have good internet and a mic, you’re good. Sales and training staff were a joy, esp after dealing with Nuance.
