Really, try logomaker.com. It is soo self explanatory and easy. You can just play and don't even have to purchase until you are totally satisfied. I made one, bought it, put it on a flashdrive and sent it off the the sign maker. Really..kind of fun.

Free often translates as rubbish but try logomaker.com. It's free, easy to use and pretty good. You have to pay to download the larger versions of the logo though.
