I heavily vetted Vend – it's a fantastic solution for retail-only, and I like the company itself. However, if you do business online as well, you're going to want to move towards omnichannel (i.e. buy online pick up in stores, buy online ship from stores, etc.) as soon as possible.

Vend is a pretty good POS. It offers eCommerce, but its implementation is woeful. They also claim that Vend integrates perfectly with Shopify, which would be wonderful if it were true. My main problem with this is discount pricing. Vend implements discounts using pricebooks, which is cumbersome and separates the final price from the product itself. I can live with that, but the Vend Shopify integration does not apply to the discounted prices. When products are created in Vend, they are assigned an original price via markup or just by entering the desired price. As time goes on we need to discount the product so we have a price book in which we put the discounted price. Works ok in Vend but the price that is synchronised to Shopify is the original price, the price books are ignored. Altering the price in Shopify will break the sync. Am I the only one seeing this problem? Is there something I'm missing? Talking with Vend got me nowhere.

We are certified VEND Experts, and while we love the system, their eCommerce leaves a lot on the table as far as features. We had a client recently that we ended up building a custom solution for in this situation. Vend is one of the best POS systems on the market, so we always want to base everything on that, if possible.

Vend POS is so incredibly user friendly and dead simple to figure out. I watched the tutorial videos only go to "I don't know why I'm even bothering watching these" because it was so intuitive. The connection to Shopify has worked seamlessly and we've had no problems with our numbers or counts or anything on that side. All basic functions and inventory management is done on the Vend side and pushed to Shopify, leaving Shopify to do only ecom selling (which it excels at!).
