you should try US Bank secured card if you get shot down at Citi. they are an excellent financial institution and offer excellent credit card products once you get in the door with them. the only problem is they may not offer some products in all states.

I had good experience with the US Bank secured Visa card. I took my tax refund ($2000) and deposited it into US Bank as a security deposit. Used the card every month and paid off the full balance each and every month. 1 year later, they returned my deposit to me (plus a negligible amount of interest) and they converted the card to a regular, unsecured Visa. 10 years later, I have a $15,000 credit limit on it, and a 800+ credit score.
