PayWindow Payroll has all of the standard features that most users are looking for, from compliance management to pay for hourly and salaried employees, to payroll in multiple states. PayWindow also includes common features like W2/1099 form preparation, flexible payment schedules, and unlimited payroll.
PayWindow does have several nice-to-have features that users will benefit from, such as bonus off-cycle payrolls, free payroll setup, and team collaboration tools. BrightPay is the only closely-ranked solution to offer these same three features. However, BrightPay ranges from £49.00 to £499.00 per year, depending on your number of employees, compared to PayWindow's starting price of $89.95 for the first year and $45.00 for the annual upgrade.
Users who are looking for expense integrations or lifetime accounts will have to turn to more advanced solutions like Zenefits, starting at $8.00 per employee per month (if billed annually) + $6.00 per employee per month for the payroll add-on, or Gusto, starting at $39.00 plus $6.00 per employee per month.
All in all, PayWindow is a reliable and affordable payroll solution with enough features to meet the needs of most businesses.

PayWindow. Looks clunky as hell but seems to be accurate on tax rates and has multi-state support, support for multiple hourly rates, accrued leave, etc.

Very easy to set up, prepares your reports for you, and it's relatively easy to use. For about 15 employees I only averaged about an hour a week on payroll, and a couple hours extra a month on submitting witholding taxes and preparing IRS 941 reports. I could never justify spending the money on outsourcing a small payroll when the time involved is that minimal. If it makes you feel better have your accounting firm prepare and double check your year end returns and W-2's. For five employees though, it's just not that complicated, and payroll is an expense that IMO you need to have an intimate knowledge of.
