A Delaware business entity search will provide you with access to information about all active and inactive Delaware businesses, including formation dates, file numbers, registered agent names, mailing addresses, and more. You can research all businesses on file by simply using the business name or file number.

Search by Name or File Number:

Step 1:

Navigate to the Delaware Division of Corporations website here. Enter the name or file number of the business you're researching in the provided area and click "Search."

Tip: For a more refined search, consider searching by file number. Your search will only produce one result as there will only be one business associated with the file number.

Step 2:

You will then be taken to a results page that will list the business that matches your search. If you used the business name to search for results, you will be able to see the file number as well. If there is no business listed under the name you searched, you will be told so. If the business is listed, click on the name for more information.

Step 3:

Here, you will have access to state-approved business information, such as the business's incorporation date, entity type and kind, contact details, and county. In addition, if you want to review the status of the business or the franchise tax assessment, you will have to pay a fee of between $10 and $20.

Step 4:

If you want to order a Certificate of Status or a certified copy of a filed document, you will have to contact a Delaware online agent or the Division of Corporations to request a copy.
