1080p image quality.

For indoor and outdoor use.

Compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Wink.

Pros and Cons:

Pros

  • Fast and easy to install.
  • User-friendly app.
  • Versatile (indoor, outdoor, wire-free).

Cons

  • Limited features without subscription service.

Review:

The Canary Flex is a small weatherproof security camera that is Wifi enabled and can be plugged in or used wire-free (battery-powered). The camera captures 1080p images, has auto-mode capabilities, and provides intelligent notifications. The system is easy to set up and use. One major drawback is the feature limitation of the included basic service.

Highlights:

  • Works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
  • Encrypted cloud storage.
  • Free, basic service includes person detection feature.
  • The auto-mode feature detects when you are at home or away and automatically arms and disarms the system.

Shortcomings:

The basic package offers very limited features, such as only one day of video storage. Users have to subscribe to the premium service to have access to features like a safety button function that alerts local police services, unlimited video downloads, desktop streaming, two-way audio, the option to customize modes (home, night, and away modes), and 30-day storage.

Reputation:

The Canary Flex has a 3.7 out of 5-star rating on Amazon. Over 20% of reviews awarded the camera less than two stars. Many of these reviews date back to 2017 and complain about the changes in the included features and subscription-based features.
